Anna Rühl received her Magister Artium in Phonetics and Speech Processing, Scandinavian Studies, and Linguistics from LMU Munich in 2010. In 2015, she completed her PhD in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Washington, Seattle. Her dissertation analyzed the role of place in the semi-autobiographical novels of Karl Ove Knausgård and Tomas Espedal, two contemporary Norwegian writers. From 2013 to 2014, Anna served as Acting Coordinator of the RCC’s two graduate programs, the Environmental Studies Certificate Program and the Doctoral Program Environment and Society.
